About Us

CANAJ Production & Distribution

is a family-owned business founded by Samir Canaj in 1994 in Shkodra, north of Albania. We started our business as a distribution company in food and beverage industry. In 2020, CANAJ Production & Distribution builds the "CANAJ FACTORY" in the northern Albanian Alps, Malësia e Madhe , Tamarë.

    We specialize in:

  • •Production of fruit juices ( pulp & no pulp)
  • •Production of tomato sauce
  • •Production of jam and marmalade
  • •Processing and bottling pure spring water

The factory is built with a modern infrastructure, located among the mountains, rich in water resources and clean environment.
The water springs at an altitude of 1,561m above sea level from the Albanian Alps, Maja e Sokolit, Shkodër, Albania.

We use the highest-quality ingredients in our products.The fruits we use for our production line arrives exclusively from organic plantations near villages. Fruits are grown with lots of care and commitment.
In our factory ,we process fruits such as : blueberry, strawberry, apple, orange, sour cherry, peach, pomegranate, plums, figs,..etc.We also process tomatoes.
Because of the factory's location we process some wild fruits such as: wild blueberry, wild blackberry, wild pomegranate.

CANAJ Production & Distribution is certified in ‘Standard EN-ISO 22000: 2018’ and ‘ EN-ISO 22000: 2005’ , also HACCP system ‘Standard UNI 10854: 99’ is implemented.
The company complies with all applicable Food Safety and Environmental regulations in Albania and EU.

Quality Assurance & Control

The company has it's in-house laboratory to test the raw materials and finished products in order to ensure the quality is within the acceptable limits and comply with regulations before either distributing in our domestic market or exporting outside of Albania.

The origins of our
Brand

‘Tamara’ is named after the village Tamarë, in northern Albania. This area is known for it's drinking waters flowing from the sources in the northern mountains.
The symbol used in the logo is a recreation of an image that was found in the illustrations on the belt of the traditional costume of Malësia e Madhe, called Xhubleta.
The Xhubleta is a traditional, bell-shaped skirt with strong historical ties in northern Albania.

Designing the Logo

‘Tamara’ Bottle, The symbol, the layout of the label and the shape of the bottle emulates the lines of the Xhubleta. Other elements that are as important as the Xhubleta are: Tamara bridge, the wild goat, the oak tree and the yellow flower that grows near the water areas.
